Vocational Qualifications Pathway (VQP)

Watch & Clock ITAC has set out different progression pathways for the industry, and will explore the development of VQP for the industry in the future.  Here are some examples of job roles within the Watch & Clock industry for reference of practitioners:

·        Quality Control

·        Operations Management

·        Sales and Marketing

·        Aftersales and Repair

Education and training providers are encouraged to design SCS-based courses which are matched with the requirements of the job roles, or as specified by the industry.

Specification of Competency Standards (SCS)

Watch & Clock ITAC updated the Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) for the industry in 2013. It consists of 137 Units of Competency (UoC) which are distributed in 8 functional areas at various levels.

Training Packages

Watch & Clock ITAC has developed four sets of SCS-based training packages to encourage enterprises and education and training providers to develop courses more closely aligned with the needs of industry (Chinese version only).
