Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Commendation Ceremony cum Sharing Session for Retail Industry

In order to express appreciation for the support of retail companies which encourage their staff to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and further encourage retail practitioners to apply for RPL before the 5-year transitional period (i.e. 30 November 2019), the Retail Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC), Vocational Training Council (Assessment Agency) and the Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA) jointly organized a RPL Commendation Ceremony cum Sharing Session for Retail Industry on 12 November 2018 in Central Government Offices, Tamar. Hon Shiu Ka Fai, Legislative Councillor (Wholesale & Retail Functional Constituency) and Mr. Henry Yip, Chairman of Retail ITAC were the officiating guests. Certificates of appreciation were presented to 42 companies, out of which 7 companies were received commendation of “QF Top Employer”. Besides the commendation section, Mrs. Annie Tse, Chairperson of HKRMA, Ms. Janis Tam, Managing Director of Swire Resources Limited, Mr. Nelson Lo, Director, Sales & Operations of Mannings, The Dairy Farm Company, Limited and Mr. Alex Tsang, Area Manager of Watsons were invited to share the benefits of RPL and their experiences of applying RPL in the area of human resources (HR) development. Over 100 representatives from industry related employers, HR departments, trade associations as well as trade unions participated in the event.
