5-year transitional period for RPL qualifications in the Manufacturing Technology (Tooling, Metals & Plastics) industry coming to an end
As a measure to recognise related work experiences and competencies acquired by practitioners at the workplace, the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mechanism under the QF provides the practitioners with a route to obtain QF-recognised qualifications facilitating their subsequent progression in learning and career. The Manufacturing Technology (Tooling, Metals & Plastics) industry has launched RPL qualifications at QF levels 1 to 3 since 15 March 2017 with a 5-year transitional period. Practitioners who submit RPL application at QF levels 1 to 3 within the transitional period (i.e. on or before 14 March 2022) may opt for going through a document verification process without having to take any assessment test. The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is the RPL Assessment Agency for the Manufacturing Technology (Tooling, Metals & Plastics) industry. Should you have further queries, please contact HKPC.
