Vocational Qualifications Pathway (VQP)
The Pilot Project on Vocational Qualifications Pathway (VQP) for the Banking industry was completed in 2017. The development of VQP aims to further link up QF-recognised qualifications to the workplace, attract new talent, and encourage practitioners to pursue learning and upgrading. The VQPs developed for the Banking industry are as follows:
1. Retail Banking
2. Corporate and Commercial Banking
- Client Relationship Stream in SME
- Middle Office Stream
- Product Development Stream
- Credit Risk Management Stream
Education and training providers are welcomed to design VQP courses which are fully-matched with the requirements of the job roles, or as specified by the industry.
Specification of Competency Standards (SCS)
Banking ITAC developed three sets of SCS for “Retail Banking” , “Corporate / Commercial Banking” and “Private Banking” in 2010, 2013 and 2015 respectively. In view of the rapid change of the industry, ITAC has completed the update and revision of SCS for “Retail Banking” and “Corporate / Commercial Banking” in 2017 and 2021 respectively.
Training Packages
Banking ITAC has developed three sets of SCS-based training packages to encourage enterprises and education and training providers to develop courses more closely aligned with the needs of industry.
- Customer Service Delivery in Retail Banking (QF Level 4)
- Sales Prospecting in Retail Banking (QF Level 4)
- Credit Risk Management for Banking Industry (QF Level 5)
